Many people object to various terms in software, claiming they sound negative. And they do sound negative. Unless you're an entomologist, "bug" for example, doesn't sound too good.

So people create euphemisms. I was at an event a few nights ago with a bunch of software folks, and we got to discussing euphemisms, specifically for bug review meetings.

It's not a Bug Review, it's a:
  • Improvement Opportunity Sessions
  • Challenge Validation Meeting
  • Analysis Meeting
  • Likely Sprint Addition Review

Seriously. Sometimes negative things happen; don't be afraid of it, but deal with it. Do enjoy the euphemisms, though - they're completely absurd!
